HIKING

The slopes around the volcano Teide (3718m) provide plenty of paths for hikers. Also some Barrancos (Gorges, eg Masca) are good for hiking. Guided tours are being offered by all tour operators. If you want it a little more thrilling and not just for tourists you can ask for local guides. Tours to the top of Teide, staying over night in a hut in the mountains are possible after registration by the Spanish authorities in Sta. Cruz.
