Divingsites

Dives are daily at 9.00 h and at 14.00 h. A reservation one day in advance is obligatory. By appointment we organise night dives or special excursions or day tours. Except for these special dives the sites will not be fixed before, since they depend on weather conditions and the ability of all divers in a dive group. The ATLANTIK-CREW decides which site is best in the morning  of each day.

The dive sites have a depth of between 10 and 40 m (30 - 120 feet). The volcanic underwater landscape is extraordinary. All reefs, caves and tunnel systems have been formed by the volcanic activity and can be experienced safely. The fantastic rock formations are covered with Gorgonias and sponges.

The water has a temperature all year round of about 20°C. There are two kinds of fishes here. The typical coldwater Atlantic fishes like Groupers, Barracudas, Rays and Morays, as well as tropical fishes like Soldier fishes, Lizardfish's, Parrotfish's and Trumpet fishes.

The ATLANTIK diving centre is always in search of new dive sites. Until now there are the "Chimney", an area to dive into like Santa Claus, the "Valley of Fish" and the "Mountain of Fish" offer thousands of small fishes as well as Groupers and Barracudas. The "Cathedral" with sunlight coming in the right direction makes you want to pray. At the "Portillo", "Labyrinth" and "Bollullo" you can pass through caves and might encounter Morays, Rays and Groupers.

The plane wreck of the "DC3 in El Sauzal" and "Heavens Gate" are being offered as a day tours with two dives and lunch on shore included. If you return from this trip along the fantastic, wild coast of the north you will agree, that it was worth spending a whole day !
